How to set up the Postbox e-mail client
This article demonstrates how to set up the Postbox e-mail client application to access an A2 Hosting e-mail account and send messages.

This article assumes that you have already created at least one e-mail account for your domain. If you have not done this, please see this article to learn how to create an e-mail account using cPanel.

This article also assumes that you have some basic familiarity with e-mail protocols (SMTP, IMAP, and POP). If you are unfamiliar with these protocols, please read this article first before you try to set up a client e-mail application.
How to set up Postbox
To configure Postbox to work with your A2 Hosting e-mail account, follow these steps:
- Start Postbox.
- On the menu, click , and then click .
- In the Your Name text box, type the name that you want recipients to see on messages you send.
- In the Email Address text box, type the e-mail address of the account you created in cPanel.
- Click Manual Setup. The Server Information page appears.
- Under Incoming Server, in the User Name text box, type the e-mail address of the account you created in cPanel.
- In the Server Name text box, type the A2 Hosting server name for your account.

- In the Type list box, select the protocol that you want to use:
- If you want to use IMAP, select IMAP.
- If you want to use POP, select POP.
In the Port text box, type one of the following:
- If you selected IMAP in step 8, type 993.
- If you selected POP in step 8, type 995.
- In the Security list box, select SSL/TLS.
Under Outgoing Server, in the Server Name text box, type the A2 Hosting server name for your account.

- In the Port text box, type 465.
- In the Security list box, select SSL/TLS.
- Click Finish. The Enter your password dialog box appears.
In the text box, type the password for the e-mail account you created in cPanel.
If you do not want to retype your password every time you access the account, select the Use Password Manager to remember this password check box.
- Click OK. Postbox downloads any messages in the account.
